My main training comprises over 5 years at WPF Therapy in London, one of the most rigorous clinical and theoretical trainings in the country. This training requires one to be in personal therapy twice a week for a minimum of four years. This is a crucial element of a therapist's learning and personal development and, I believe, vital to understanding the experience of our clients.
I am an accredited and registered member of both The British Psychoanalytic Council and The UK Council for Psychotherapy.
I abide by, and am bound by, those organisations Codes of Ethics for good practice.
My experience
I have 15 years of experience working with a wide range of clients and presenting issues. I also have extensive experience of working with clients in addiction and bereavement counselling organisations.
I have supervised the work of counsellors, psychotherapists and trainees for a number of years in different settings.
I have specialist training in assessment for psychodynamic psychotherapy and in offering time limited therapy.
I also have long experience of facilitating short- and long-term therapy groups for those with a range of addictive disorders. I was the Head of a large addiction counselling service in London for six years.
I have previously run successful workshops in London and have presented at national and international conferences on the psychotherapy of addictions and on working with addictive states of mind.
With extensive experience working with those dealing with addictive behaviours, including alcoholism, I understand that untreated addiction issues can persist wherever you live. As such, I provide remote therapy services to those suffering with addiction in the UK or abroad, offering online therapy for expats across the globe.
This means that I aim to accommodate time zone differences where needed, on an individual basis.
