Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (WPF Therapy)
Diploma in Psychodynamic Studies (Roehampton University)
Postgraduate Diploma in Supervision (WPF Therapy)
My main training was over 5 years at WPF Therapy in London, one of the most rigorous clinical and theoretical trainings in the country. This training requires one to be in personal therapy twice a week for a minimum of 4 years. This is a crucial element of a therapist's learning and personal development and, I believe, vital to understanding the experience of our clients.
I am an accredited and registered member of both The British Psychoanalytic Council and The UK Council for Psychotherapy and a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I abide by and am bound by, those organisations Codes of Ethics for good practice.
I have 15 years experience of working with a wide range of clients and presenting issues. I also have extensive experience of working with clients in addiction and bereavement counselling organisations.
I have supervised the work of counsellors, psychotherapists and trainees for a number of years
in different settings.
I have specialist training in assessment for psychodynamic psychotherapy and in offering time limited therapy.
I also have long experience of facilitating short and long term therapy groups for those with a range of addictive disorders.
I was the Head of a large addiction counselling service in London for the past 6 years.
I run workshops in London and have presented at national and international conferences on the psychotherapy of addictions and on working with addictive states of mind.
